MSc course information

  • Degree: Master of Science M.Sc.

  • Duration: 4 semesters (144 ECTS), or 2 semesters (72 ECTS) for students already possessing a master degree or a four year bachelor degree

  • Teaching language: English

  • Start: Septembereach year

First year (M1)

Broad training in physics spanning fundamental and applied science. Includes: Core courses in quantum mechanics, statistics, mathematical methods and experimental techniques, specialized courses in in physical foundations and enabling technologies and a laboratory internship. In depth courses and a 6 month supervised research project in a QMat research group or partner lab

Second year (M2) - Specializations

Students can choose from six specialization programmes:

QMat is also open to students studying an engineering degree at the ECPM and the Telecom Physique Strasbourg.

Special training events: QMat regularly organises thematic workshops, hackathons and schools, such as the European Spring School in Quantum Science and Technology which took place in Strasbourg in 2022.
