Many thanks to everyone who took part in the ITI QMat Scientific Day last Thursday. The quality of the oral presentations and posters was unanimously appreciated by the members of the scientific committee...
Two prizes (of €200 and €100) were awarded to PhD students presenting posters. However, in view of the very high quality of the posters presented, it was difficult this year to decide between two posters for the second place. As a result, both posters were awarded the second prize, which was doubled for the occasion.
After deliberation by the jury, the lucky winners are:
First prize (€200) : José Solano (IPCMS) for his poster "Spin wave study of electron spin-polarized transport in ferromagnets".
Second prize (€100 + €100): Ex-aequo Jean-Gabriel Hartmann (IPCMS / KIT) and Ronan Viel (IPCMS) for their posters "Qudits vs Qubits: faster and more reliable quantum gates?" and "Femtosecond spectroscopy of new iron bi-dentate complexes with extended lifetimes", respectively.
