Les Houches Winter School and Workshop 2025 on 'Quantum Dynamics & Spectroscopy of Functional Molecular Materials and Biological Photosystems'

December 2024 - A winter school (Februray 23-28) and workshop (March 02-07) will be held in 2025 at the Ecole de Physique, Les Houches, France, on:

"Quantum Dynamics & Spectroscopy of Functional Molecular Materials and Biological Photosystems"

Following up on a series of related workshops organized since 2013, the workshop brings together a group of leading spectroscopists and theorists, to address the most recent progress and objectives in the study of energy and charge transfer in biomolecular systems and functional materials. A guiding theme is the matching between spectroscopic variables and quantum simulations, for various time-resolved spectroscopies including e.g. novel two-dimensional electronic and electronic-vibrational schemes as well as single-molecule and atto/femtosecond X-ray transient techniques.

Since 2023, the workshop is preceded by a school primarily intended for Master's/PhD students and Postdocs. Lectures encompass theoretical and experimental concepts as well as state-of-the-art methodologies in the study of photoinduced energy and charge transfer in molecular complexes, nanostructured materials, and biological aggregates. The lectures are accompanied by computational exercises at an introductory level, and participants should bring their laptops. Participants of the school are strongly encouraged to submit an abstract for single slide presentations (SSP's) to be presented during informal evening sessions.

Please see further details at the website dedicated to both the workshop and winter school events.
